UGANDA SAFARIS/WILD PLACES (3-day trip)

DAY 1:
You will be transferred to Entebbe airport for a scheduled flight to Kisoro (07h45/08h55). Pick up from Kisoro Airstrip and transfer by road for 2 hours to Clouds Overnight at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge (FB + non-premium brand drinks).

DAY 2:
Full day Gorilla tracking Overnight at Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge (FB + non-premium brand drinks).

DAY 3:
After breakfast, transfer by road 2 hours from Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge to Kisoro Airstrip to catch a scheduled flight from Kisoro/Entebbe (09h10/11h25). You will be transferred back to your hotel by road from the airport

Option 2: 3 days Wildlife and Primate Tour

DAY 1:
Transfer by road to Semliki airstrip from Kampala. +/- 6 hrs. Or take an optional scheduled domestic flight from Entebbe international airport to Semliki airstrip. (10h20 /11h25) Overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge (FB).

DAY 2:
Sunrise boat trip on Lake Albert to view the endangered Shoebill. Evening sundowner game activity. Overnight at Semliki Safari Lodge (FB).

DAY 3:
Return to Kampala by road. +/- 6 hrs. Or take an optional scheduled domestic flight from Semliki airstrip to Entebbe International airport.

NDALI LODGE

Amenities:
All 8 cottages have en-suite bathrooms with a bath, shower, sink facing West and have a veranda which looks out over Ndali estate and, beyond, the mountains of the moon (on a clear day!)

  1. Guided walks to see birds, Bigodi wetland sanctuary, or the farm where coffee, vanilla and waragi (!) are produced. Also a one and a half hour walk around the lake above which Ndali is built which can be done without a guide.
  2. A swimming pool, sauna and traditional boats on the lake.
  3. Chimpanzee viewing in Kibali forest.
  4. Massage in-room: 8 cottages (including a honeymoon cottage) which look out over Ndali estate and, beyond, the mountains of the moon (on a clear day!).

MIHINGO LODGE

Mihingo Lodge is 240kms from Kampala.

DAY 1: Enjoy a seasonal lunch full of fresh and local produce followed by a gentle climb onto the water catchment where you will be able to embrace a panoramic view of the rolling hills and get a feel for where your adventures will take place and mountain biking across the rural lands.

DAY 2: Horse Ride through national Park, walk alongside the many different antelopes such as zebra, topi or eland this will undoubtedly prove to be one of the most unique ways to safari in Africa.

DAY 3: Want to head out for a morning run to take in the animals on foot? You can relax by the pool, enjoy our massages or go on a walking safari. A cultural visit to one of the surrounding farms is also great fun. If you have children, we offer kids bush courses.

LAKE MBURO AND MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK (3 Days)

DAY 1 – Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park:
After your breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park, you could go for a game drive in the afternoon on which you will encounter various animals such as impalas, oribis, zebras, elands, buffaloes and topis among several others. Dinner and overnight at Mpogo lodge.

DAY 2 – Game drives and a boat trip:
You could go for a game drive in the early morning to see the early risers retire from their hunt. Later, in the day, head back to the lodge to enjoy a late breakfast and rest. After lunch, go for the thrilling boat trip on which you will see various water birds like the strange White Winged Warbler, the Papyrus gonoleks, Bare-faced Go-away bird, Brown-faced lapwing and Carruther’s cisticolas. Dinner and overnight as above.

DAY 3 – Return to Kampala:
Have an early breakfast and then begin the drive back to Kampala.

MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK (Safari 3 days 2 nights)

DAY 1 – The marvelous Murchison Falls:
Early morning, leave Kampala driving northwest to Murchison falls national park. Optional: visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a nature walk to see the rare rhinos in the wild. Lunch in Masindi Hotel. Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest protected area in Uganda, with 3.840 Km. Relax a bit at a situated site on the top of the spectacular falls, where you can see the Nile’s perfected beauty the 43 meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray – the best of the Nile River. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba safari lodge or Red chilli rest camp.

DAY 2 – The boat cruise on the river Nile:
Embark on an early morning game drive on the Northern bank where your guide will help you spot elephants, lions, cape buffalos, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, Oribis, bushbucks, spotted hyenas and, if you are lucky, leopards. Return to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch, you will safari upstream by boat to the calm Victoria Nile and the base of the falls just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron.” There you can marvel at toothsome hippos, crocodiles, elephants, waterbucks and Uganda kobs. This is also the habitat for many bird species including goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, kingfishers, Hornbills, cormorants and the rare shoebill stork. After the Launch cruise, you will head for an evening game drive before you return for dinner and overnight at your lodge.

DAY 3 – Return to Kampala:
Have an early morning game drive, and later return for breakfast and checking out. Lunch in Masindi and return to Kampala.

KYANINGA LODGE
Located 20 minutes outside of Fort Portal and approximately 3.5 hours from Kampala

Katara Lodge, located 5.5 hours away from Kampala along the Mbarara – Kasese Highway is a luxury eco-lodge with 8 spacious hand-crafted cottages, perched on the Kichwamba escarpment with breathtaking views of the park below.
For a weekend getaway, leave Kampala around 1.00p.m. on Friday and you will arrive in time for dinner. Katara offers activities that include morning game drive, boat cruise on day 2, chimpanzee tracking, scenery viewing.

If travelling by road from Kampala cross through the Equator to Mbarara onto Kabale for about 427kms, take on to Muko which is 50kms from Kabale.

Child policy: Children below 2 years sharing with an adult are accommodated free. 3 years and 12 years old sharing with an adult will be charged 50% of the full adult rate. Children above the age of 12 years are considered as adults and pay full rate.

CRATER SAFARI LODGE KIBALE
Crater Safari Lodge is famously known for Chimpanzee Tracking and Habituation. With activities that include: Canoeing, Biking Safaris to Kibale forest, crater lake vist, tea estate visits, community visit. Birding in Bigodi or around the crater lakes.   1. You can Fly from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield either to Kasese or Fort-portal airstrip.
  2. By road for about 338Kms Travel from Kampala through Mubende to FortPortal. Alternatively, Kampala – Mbarara – FortPortal Continue via the Kamwenge Route to the Crater Safari Lodge sign post on your right.

How to get there:
1. KAMPALA – ENTEBBE ROUTE
Drive to Entebbe for easy directions stop at Victoria /nakumatt mall ask the boda boda men the route to Nakiwogo Landing site (Ferry to Kalangala) we advise our guests to leave kampala early and avoid the jam on entebbe road , be at the island by 1:00pm ,check in time is 1:30pm and exactly 2:00pm it sets off for the island .

Ship fares are :-

  1. First class: 14,000 UGX (per person).
  2. Second class: 10,000 UGX (per person).

Please note After purchasing your ticket keep it safe till you arrive at the dock in kalangala , you wiill be requested to present it on check out , if you have misplaced it you will be told to pay again.

CAR FARES
For those who wish to sail with their cars we advise you to be at the landing by 10:00am to put your car in the queue. At the landing site there is good security and enough parking space you can leave the cars behind at a fee of 5000 UGX per day

  1. Small cars: 50,000 UGX including the driver.
  2. Big cars: 70,000 UGX including the driver.

When you arrive at the landing site at Kalangala (lutoboka landing pier) we do pick you up with our hotel van at no cost .

2. KAMPALA – MASAKA ROUTE
From the western part of Uganda, a free car ferry links Bukakata mainland located 36km east of Masaka with Luku on Bugala Islands about 30 minutes sailing to Bugoma then drive 45mints to the hotel. The ferry sails either directions every few hours from early morning to late afternoon.

Time : 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm (Monday to Saturday).
Sundays it normally crosses two or three times a day (11am, 2pm, and 4pm).
